Showjumping Ranking Regulations

ZANEF SJ committee are introducing a Season Ranking system. The ranking regulations shall apply to ranked jumping competitions held at:

  1. ZANEF and affiliated Zambian Events.
  2. Foreign Events as recognised for ranking purposes by ZANEF ie WJC jumped in another country.

This is NOT a GRADING system. At the end of each year the highest ranked horse/pony/rider combination of EACH height will win the VICTOR LUDORUM.

Ranking Records

  1. The Show Jumping committee will keep records of the performance of all registered horses/ponies in ranked show jumping competitions. These results must be sent to the Show Jumping Committee by the show organisers within 7 days of conclusion of the Event.
  2. Ranked classes will start from 60cm children and 80cm Adult/Junior.

Ranking Period

The ranking period is for the Season (First ZANEF or affiliated Event of the year to the last of the year)

Ranking Lists

Will be published at the end of each calendar month.

Horse-Rider Combination

  1. Ranking Lists will be based on a Horse or Pony List.
  2. Ranking Points will accrue to the Horse/Pony/Rider combinations.

Ranking Points

Only Horses/Pony that complete the competition will be awarded points.

Points for ranking will be awarded as follows:-

No points will be awarded in the following cases:

  1. When entries have been restricted on any basis other than height or past/current performance.
  2. Less than 2 competitors
  3. Fun competitions or similar
  4. Consolation events

In the event of a tie for any place the number of points awarded shall be averaged among the competitors tying, factions will be made up to the next full point.

Horse/Pony/Rider combinations are encouraged to move up the heights of course, again, this is NOT a GRADING system. Horse/Pony/Rider combinations may also move down. In either case points accrued in ANY height jumped will remain under that height and said combination will simply begin to accrue points at the new height.

Victor Ludorum

At the end of each year the highest ranked Horse/Pony/Rider combination in each height will win the Victor Ludorum for that height. Horse/Pony/Rider combinations moving up or down the heights will be ranked overall in the height in which they accrued the MOST points.
